Our Oakfield Easton Maudit home is a purpose-built property and first opened in 1981 providing Residential Care and Supported Living for 18 Adults with Learning Disabilities, and Autism. Our Easton Maudit site is now under redevelopment to incorporate the new way of thinking, a push from residential care to supported living.
Oakfield is registered with the Care Quality Commission is regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and as such are regularly visited by local CQC inspectors. Our latest inspection rated as “Good”.
Our principal aim is to provide services that best meet the need of individuals within the community in which adults can be assisted to reach their full potential and to live as rich and rewarding a life as possible.
Oakfield Easton Maudit is located in a quiet, secluded spot at the end of the lane opposite the village church, the home benefits from peaceful surroundings, undisturbed by-passing traffic, and with a clear view over adjacent fields. It has a large car park and lawned approach with mature trees and at the rear there is a large patio area overlooking a landscaped garden, a sensory garden, and a summer house.
There is a spacious living area with a function room, two communal lounges, two dining rooms, a kitchen for assisted daily living, a snack bar and a large kitchen which provides three meals per day. Menus are designed to be well balanced, healthy, and highly nutritious and provide for the cultural and dietary needs of the people we support. For those individuals who need assistance at mealtimes, staff are on hand to provide discrete and sensitive help. Regular meetings take place to enable them to interact with the chef and communicate their choices.
The accommodation is fully centrally heated with each bedroom having its own thermostatic control for the individual's comfort and most rooms enjoy outlooks over countryside or gardens.
There is an on-going building programme to update and improve our accommodation at Easton Maudit. During 2021-2025 there will be an extensive building plan to ensure the highest standards for everyone residing at Easton Maudit. This plan will incorporate the new way of thinking, a push from residential care to supported living. This redevelopment aims to build 16 new accommodation areas for the people we support, giving them the option to stay at Easton Maudit Accommodation should they wish to.
