Our Trustees

What makes a Trustee?

Meet the people who are entrusted to run
and develop the charity.

Trustees of Oakfield (Easton Maudit) Ltd have overall responsibility for strategy and financial viability of the Charitable Company, with operational activities delegated to the Managing Team and other paid staff of the organisation. A typical Board meeting will consider strategic direction, and an update on recent work undertaken by Oakfield Community, with a report from the Senior Management Team.

We are looking for more Trustees to join our dedicated team. We are looking for people that can bring experience, understanding and determination. If you have an interest in supporting people to achieve in their lives and can see ways to do this for those that are vulnerable and who require more support.

Then please contact us.

Our team of Trustees are experts in their fields and provide unparalleled guidance for Oakfield

Sara Morrison

Chairperson

I have been a member of Oakfield Community Board of Trustees since early 2018, then moving to the role of chairperson in 2020. I have always been passionate about the care and support of vulnerable people. I worked for 21 years in the Regulation and Inspection of care services. I have the passion and vision to assist Oakfield to achieve excellence. I am interested in the letter of the law and how that is applied to running services but also believe in the spirit of the law and the intention to provide the best outcome for each individual.

The ethos and foundation on which the charity was built was that people who lived at Oakfield should be treated with respect and dignity and be supported to live a fulfilling life with community at its heart. I am committed to following this vision.

Clive Reeder

Vice Chair

I trained as a Production Engineer and spent most of my career in Human Resources with multinational companies. I also have experience of being the proprietor of a nursing home with family for several years.

I was thrilled to be able to become involved with Oakfield having lived in the local area for over twenty-five years.

Working with the small team of Trustees has enabled me to become involved both practically and strategically to ensure that Oakfield focusses its resources on enabling those whom we support to have a fulfilled and happy life.

Ian Metcalf

Trustee

I was introduced to Oakfield Community on a professional basis through my business links. Once I met and saw the people and staff of Oakfield Community, I knew that I wanted to be part of it. The care, accommodation and support that Adults with Learning Disabilities are receiving is a great model. I could relate to the needs of those being support as I am also a parent of a daughter with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

My knowledge and personal living experience of adults with Learning Disabilities will support the vision and mission of Oakfield Community to excel for those we support.

Alan Stapleton

Trustee

I have been involved with Oakfield Community for a number of years. My passion is to make sure that those we support live and lead happy, fulfilling lives, that challenge them to try new things and experience like anyone else. I am committed to enabling people to have the same opportunities and lifestyle enjoyed by any other citizen.

My experience is through social care having worked throughout my career for Northamptonshire County Council. My last post in NCC was in brokerage where I enabled people to find the support that was right for them. I have also been part of several innovative initiatives and building developments to provide independent living for older people and younger adults. Oakfield Community has been providing care for 40 years and are adapting all the time to improve the accommodation, care and support that each individual receives.

Richard Wood

Trustee

I trained as a Chartered Accountant and transitioned to a career in various IT Services businesses.

I moved to the UK in 1999 from South Africa, when my company transferred me to run a company acquired in the UK. We settled in Yardley Hastings which is where I became acquainted with Oakfield.

In my corporate life I was very active in Community Support Programmes and I am very excited to be involved more tangibly with Oakfield, with its strategic development, and to assist in further enabling Oakfield and its management team to provide exceptional facilities and care to those we support.

Claudia Slabon

Trustee

I have recently joined Oakfield’s board of Trustees in January 2024. I relocated to the UK from Germany in 2005 and have developed a passion for the Care and Charity sectors. My career is within the care sector, with my current role as the Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism (MHLDA) Collaborative Lead at the Integrated Care Board in Northamptonshire. I am part of other Trustee Board positions such as the Faraway Children’s Charity, Stand Out Northamptonshire and The Crysalys Foundation.

I am excited to be involved within the Board of Trustees at Oakfield, and hope to bring my experience and knowledge to strive for the growth and development of Oakfield Community.
